"This illustrated book on werewolves is part of a horror series that seems to be targeted toward young children (I remember the series also includes a Frankenstein book). The even numbered pages tell an original story about a man turned werewolf named Bernard as an old man recounting his story to his grandchildren I presume while the odd numbered pages give werewolf facts and fun trivia. The story ends with Bernard, who throughout telling the story has his left arm concealed under a blanket ushering the kids off to bed upstairs while he puts out the fire, revealing a stump that used to be his left hand. Regarding certain pages I recall, page 18 shows Bernard transforming for the first time while page 20 has the werewolf with blood around his mouth as he attacks a sheep I think. Page 30 has human Bernard screaming in pain as he no longer has a left hand. Page 32 shows Bernard in chains in a cellar I believe. Page 36 has the werewolf fleeing from the hunters and townspeople."
