The even numbered pages tell an original story about a man turned werewolf named Bernard as an old man recounting his story to his grandchildren I presume while the odd numbered pages give werewolf facts and fun trivia. The story ends with Bernard, who throughout telling the story has his left arm concealed under a blanket ushering the kids off to bed upstairs while he puts out the fire, revealing a stump that used to be his left hand. Bernard transforming for the first time has the werewolf with blood around his mouth as he attacks a sheep I think. human Bernard screaming in pain as he no longer has a left hand. "
