There was a romance with a cold/distant dark fae prince (or prince-like love interest). Their relationship was extremely forbidden and they were constantly being told to stay apart, especially by her biological father. They traveled to the fae world through a portal under a willow tree. I remember in book 2 the girl is captured/imprisoned and believes the love interest betrayed her, but he actually hadn’t. There’s a scene where he’s carrying her and she punches him repeatedly in the chest because she thinks he betrayed her. At the end of the trilogy (epilogue or final chapter), they finally get married and are allowed to be together.
