"I am looking for an old short story that I read in the 1980s, possibly in a magazine or a collection of stories with unexpected endings. The story is about a seemingly naive housewife who is underestimated by everyone. She is married to a boring, annoying man who often gives her driving instructions. At the beginning, she meets a young man at some gathering and he drives her home in a rare, luxurious sports car. The car had a special Italian-sounding name, something I remember as “Gianni Lucia” (or something very similar), although I may have the name or spelling wrong. She is fascinated not only by the car, but by the young man’s exciting and free lifestyle. Later, while parking in their garage, her husband is giving her instructions. She accidentally (or intentionally) drives into him and he dies. She tells the police that she confused the gears and that it was a tragic accident. Nobody suspects her because everyone sees her as harmless and naive. The twist ending is that she gets away with it and finally lives the life she always dreamed of, with the sports car she admired. I remember it as an ironic story with a surprising ending, not a comedy. I don’t remember the title or the author."
