The cover is a picture of the heroine swimming in a river and she’s looking over her shoulder at the irritated ‘duke’ standing on the bank. It’s his river that she was refreshing herself in and he’s angry that she’s disturbing his fish fry. She’s independent, an excellent horsewoman and going to stay with an Aunt who’s unkind. The Aunt has one unaccomplished, irritating daughter. The heroine starts writing anonymous exposé on the foibles of the ton. Several dowagers of the ton are being blackmailed and the heroine dresses as a man to infiltrate the gentlemen’s club…. eventually the hero and heroine save the day whilst falling in love. "
