"It was a series of books (the sort a child might read in middle school) by some author, where the main protagonist was originally a normal kid, but gets swept up in a fantasy adventure. The book series I'm trying to remember has nothing to do with narnia, percy jackson, harry potter or impossible creatures. The main antagonist (in at least the the first 1-2 books) was the king of faeries, Oberon, who commanded things like goblins and such. The protagonist and supporting characters had D&D like classes, and roles in the group."
