"British novel. A Family owns a Gorilla Sanctuary. A Female Gorilla is murdered. the son, main character, has a one night stand. When the woman discovers she is pregnant and visits him again. Confronted by news of the pregnancy he becomes violent and kills her. His father crosses paths with a cryptid wild cat black panther. Father finds out what his son has done and helps him cover up his crime. They dispose of the corpse from top of a sea cliff and drive the woman’s car to a bad neighbourhood where it will quickly be stolen and converted. They both shave off their hair. The woman’s body is washed ashore and dragged away by black panther to be scavenged. The father banishes his son from the family home, and tells him to leave the country."
