Guess the Book

An aspiring young writer misinterprets a secret romantic encounter at her family's country estate and makes an accusation that alters the course of multiple lives. The consequence of her lie follows the couple through the chaos of the retreat to Dunkirk and the volunteer hospital wards of London during World War II.
